UJA FEDERATION OF NYC - ERNIE MICHEL
COLLECTION KIOSK

Ernest Michel was a Holocaust survivor, journalist, communal leader, and dedicated collector of Judaica.  He committed his life to helping Jewish people all over the world. His lifelong collection of more than 300 pieces was compiled into a kiosk and prominently displayed at the UJA Federation Headquarters in New York City. The inspiration for the design of the screens and menus was the only artifact he kept from his years in the concentration camps, his belt.

MEMORIAL SLOAN-KETTERING CANCER CENTER - PEDIATRICS

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Pediatrics reception area was redesigned. A large display welcomed visitors and patients with animated messages. The main part of the redesign was a 2-story high, interactive sculpture wall filled with glass vessels. The glass vessels were the inspiration for the message animations. A simple line provided the link between the frames and would draw a vessel. The vessel would morph into an NYC landmark/icon or famous painting and then transition to the next message.

Also, within the pediatric welcome area, was an information kiosk that families could use to find nearby landmarks and resources, the daily cafeteria menu, doctor’s bios and information, a directory of the artwork and locations within the center, a map and directions of for the center and events happening that day.
